Dogo Onsen Honkan
Dogo Onsen, the oldest hot spring in Japan, is proud of its 3,000-year history. Dogo Onsen Honkan, the symbol of Dogo spa resort, was completed in 1894. The three-storied timber structure is said to be a model of the bathhouse of the gods in the film “Spirited Away” by Hayao Miyazaki. Dogo Onsen Honkan was also given three stars in the Michelin Guide 2009. Inside there are baths called Kami no Yu and Tama no Yu, both of which have luxurious stone bathtubs.Before and after bathing, you can use the large public lounge or a private room to relax wearing your yukata.
