Yuushien Garden is a Japanese-style garden on a small island Daikonjima floating in Nakaumi lagoon. The garden features 250 types of Japanese peonies in full bloom. The ‘Chisen Peony’ is one of the season’s highlights as it can only be seen here. The early blooming flowers are gathered from around the island and floated on the surface of the pond. This spectacle lasts for only one week per year, usually occurring around the end of April to the beginning of May.
