Itsukushima Shrine
“Miyajima of Aki Province” became well known as one of the three most scenic places in Japan, along with Matsushima and Amanohashidate. Itsukushima Shrine was registered as a World Heritage in 1996. The vermilion-painted buildings connected by the corridors and its great torii gate appear as if floating on the sea at high tides.
