Daigo-ji Temple
Established in the 9th century, Daigo-ji was restored in the 16th century by the hegemon Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Daigo-ji is well known for its cherry blossoms and fall colors. Ever since Toyotomi Hideyoshi held his extravagant “Hanami” (cherry blossom viewing) parties at Daigoji, the temple has been known for its cherry blossoms. This temple is designated World Heritage site.
